    Widely recognized as the co-host of MTV’s “Ridiculousness,” Steelo Brim has seamlessly transitioned into the hospitality industry. His collaboration with Vincent Bryant and Scott Williams on New York’s Las’ Lap showcased his ability to curate spaces that resonate with diverse audiences.     Reflecting on the decision to establish Linden in Los Angeles, Brim stated, “We have other partners who are out here in Los Angeles as well, and we just felt like the community we had built in New York, we wanted to somehow accomplish that here in LA.”

    As both co-owner and designer of Linden, Alahna Jade brings a unique blend of aesthetic vision and business acumen. Her design choices reflect a vintage New York ambiance, characterized by distressed mirrors, white brick arches, and curated artifacts that narrate personal and cultural stories. Jade’s commitment to creating inclusive and welcoming spaces has solidified her reputation as a formidable force in Los Angeles’s hospitality scene.

    Emphasizing the importance of representation, Jade remarked, “Being Black and being in Hollywood, there’s a lot of spaces that are welcoming of us but don’t necessarily put us at the forefront. It was important for us to create this space because the Black dollar is big, and it goes a long way, and being able to regenerate that back into our community is really important to us.”

    VINCENT BRYANT & SCOTT WILLIAMS

    Esteemed for their successful venture, Las’ Lap in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Bryant and Williams have brought their expertise to Los Angeles with Linden. Their deep understanding of New York’s multicultural culinary landscape has been instrumental in shaping Linden’s diverse menu and atmosphere, bridging East Coast flavors with West Coast sensibilities.

    In the heart of Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, siblings Tyler, Chloe, and Brandon Makhani have transformed their family’s historic property into Casaléna, a coastal Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and event space that has quickly become a dining destination.     Crafting the Casaléna Experience

    Chloe’s expertise in hospitality and branding has helped shape Casaléna into more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. She envisioned a lifestyle brand where guests could enjoy exceptional service, ambiance, and cuisine all in one place.

    “Our goal was to create a space where people felt like they were stepping into another world—somewhere chic, vibrant, and welcoming,” Chloe said. “Los Angeles is known for its dining scene, but we wanted to offer something different—an escape within the city.”

    Reimagining a Family Legacy

    Tyler, with his expertise in real estate, played a pivotal role in reimagining the property that their father originally constructed in 1982. Reflecting on the transformation, Tyler noted, “We essentially got to reimagine our dream version of that. And I think that that’s going to play a really instrumental role in our success at this location.”

    Cultivating a Culture of Hospitality

    Brandon’s passion for hosting and hospitality stems from years of family gatherings and an appreciation for making guests feel special. He believes that true success in hospitality comes from a culture of warmth and attention to detail.

    “We’ve been trained to be hosts since we could walk,” Brandon explained. “Creating a space where people feel at home while enjoying an elevated dining experience is what we do best.”

    The culmination of their collective efforts is Casaléna, an 8,000-square-foot space featuring five distinct dining areas, including an atrium with vaulted skylights and a sunken garden patio reminiscent of European resorts. The menu, curated by executive chef Lobo Leon, offers coastal Mediterranean cuisine with dishes like butterflied whole branzino and sweet corn agnolotti, complemented by craft cocktails from culinary director Danielle Sobel.

    THE INSPIRATION BEHIND ‘CASALÉNA’

    The Makhani siblings grew up in a family that valued hosting, hospitality, and excellence in service. Their father originally built the property that now houses Casaléna in 1982, and for the siblings, transforming it into a sophisticated dining venue was both a personal and professional dream.

    “We wanted to bring something to Los Angeles that felt like an escape—a place that could transport guests to the Mediterranean without leaving the city,” said Tyler Makhani. “This was our opportunity to create an experience that reflects our passion for hospitality and our love for this community.”

    Los Angeles, particularly Woodland Hills, was the perfect location for Casaléna because of its growing demand for high-end dining options outside of central LA. The Makhani siblings saw an opportunity to provide a luxurious yet approachable experience in an area that was ready for something new.

Known collectively as the Houston Brothers, the twins have redefined the hospitality scene in L.A. over the past decade, turning venues into immersive playgrounds that blend music, design, and storytelling.     Mark and Jonnie Houston didn’t stumble into nightlife—they built their empire from scratch, starting with La Descarga, a Havana-style rum bar in Koreatown, back in 2010. Since then, they’ve launched a series of cult-favorite spots including No Vacancy, Harvard & Stone, and Break Room 86, each designed with a different story and spirit.

    Level 8 isn’t just a bar or club—it’s an entire nightlife ecosystem, spread across a sprawling rooftop of the Moxy & AC Hotel. It features a collection of unique, themed venues under one roof, each with its own atmosphere, sound, and style. From Mr. Wanderlust, a seductive cabaret lounge, to Golden Hour, a glitzy rooftop pool bar with panoramic skyline views, Level 8 invites guests to choose their vibe—or experience them all in one night.

    The inspiration behind Level 8 draws from the brothers’ global travels and their love of theatrical design. The project brings together immersive entertainment, culinary excellence, and visual art—all signature elements of the Houston Brothers’ work.“Our goal was to create something cinematic,” said Mark Houston. “Each venue tells a story. When you step into Level 8, you’re stepping into another world.”

    “We’ve always believed nightlife should be experiential,” added Jonnie Houston. “People want more than a drink and a DJ. They want to feel transported. With Level 8, we’re giving them that escape.”

    The Visionary Behind The Supreme Team LA

    Adib’s journey into the nightlife industry was driven by a passion for bringing people together through unforgettable events. Recognizing a niche for culturally rich and engaging experiences, he founded The Supreme Team LA with the mission to curate events that blend music, art, and community. His vision was to create spaces where individuals could celebrate and connect, fostering a sense of unity within the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles.

    THE INSPIRATION BEHIND ‘THE SUPREME TEAM LA’

    The vision for The Supreme Team LA was born out of founder Adib’s desire to create more than just parties—he wanted to cultivate culture-driven experiences. Inspired by a love for music, community, and soulful connection, Adib saw a gap in the nightlife scene for events that felt both elevated and emotionally resonant.     Building off that inspiration, The Supreme Team LA launched the AnyTime, AnyPlace R&B Experience, naming it after Janet Jackson’s iconic hit—a perfect nod to the genre’s legacy. Choosing The Peppermint Club as its home was a deliberate decision. The venue’s vintage lounge feel and superior acoustics created the ideal setting for an R&B-centric event that’s more about connection than commotion.

    From curated DJ sets to occasional live performances, each element is planned with precision. The event has organically grown through word of mouth, consistently pulling tastemakers, music lovers, and creatives from across LA.

    SUPREME TEAM LA AT THE PEPPERMINT CLU​B

    Supreme Team LA has carved a niche in Los Angeles’ nightlife by curating events that blend music, culture, and community. Their signature event, the AnyTime,AnyPlace R&B Experience, is hosted at The Peppermint Club, in West Hollywood.

    The Peppermint Club offers an intimate setting with a vintage aesthetic, featuring plush seating, rich color palettes, and a top-tier sound system. This ambiance creates a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, making it an ideal venue for Supreme Team LA’s events.

    JOHN TERZIAN & BRIAN

    Where Terzian brings vision, Brian Toll brings structure. With experience in venue ownership and business development, Toll is the operational mastermind who turned creative dreams into scalable realities. He’s been instrumental in ensuring that h.wood maintains quality and consistency—even as it expands into new cities and international markets.

    My job is making sure we can dream big, and then actually do it,” said Toll. “We don’t open doors unless we’re 100% certain it adds value to the culture.

    Toll’s influence is seen in h.wood’s calculated growth—opening venues in partnership with major players like Wynn Las Vegas and launching high-impact pop-ups at Coachella, Super Bowl weekends, and Art Basel. His focus on tight execution and premium service ensures each location runs with the same integrity that made the original concepts successful.

    John Terzian is often considered the soul of the H.wood Group. With a background in law and entertainment, Terzian brings a storyteller’s touch to the brand. He’s deeply involved in conceptualizing each venue—drawing from vintage Hollywood, music culture, and a deep understanding of what makes people feel something when they walk into a space.

    We never set out to build clubs or restaurants,” Terzian shared. “We set out to build environments—places that made people feel seen, inspired, and connected.

    He’s the mind behind the unique identities of venues like Delilah (a supper club with 1920s glamour), The Nice Guy (a no-photo policy hangout for the elite), and Harriet’s Rooftop (a luxe escape above the city lights).

    CURATING CULTURE

    More than just nightlife, H.wood Group has expanded into hospitality consulting, pop-up experiences at major events like Coachella and Art Basel, and even international locations. The brand has partnered with global players like Wynn Resorts and Revolve, fusing luxury with street culture.

    Their distinct approach—merging old Hollywood glam with modern taste—has drawn a loyal following, including A-list celebrities, artists, and entrepreneurs.

    DELILAH

    Delilah is a modern-day supper club that brings the glamour of the Roaring Twenties to contemporary Los Angeles.Established by The h.wood Group, Delilah was inspired by the opulence and ambiance of 1920s and 1930s supper clubs, aiming to create a venue where dining, dancing, and live entertainment converge in an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

    The venue’s ambiance is characterized by lavish chandeliers, plush interiors, and nostalgic touches like a crackling fireplace, offering guests a warm and welcoming atmosphere as they dine on refined American fare. Live jazz performances and a troupe of female entertainers enhance the experience, transforming dinner into a lively, immersive event.

    Delilah has become a sanctuary for the rich and famous, attracting celebrities such as Drake, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and the Biebers. Its strict no-recording policy and emphasis on discretion provide an exclusive environment free from intrusive paparazzi, allowing guests to enjoy their evening in privacy.

    THE NICE GUY

    Nestled in West Hollywood, The Nice Guy is more than just a restaurant or bar—it’s an immersive experience that has redefined nightlife in Los Angeles. Created by the H.Wood Group, the inspiration behind The Nice Guy was to blend the exclusivity of a private club with the warmth and charm of a 1960s-era Italian lounge. Its speakeasy-style entrance and no-photos policy give it an air of mystery, attracting A-listers and tastemakers alike who value both privacy and atmosphere.

    The ambiance at The Nice Guy is one of its most striking elements. With dim lighting, plush leather booths, marble accents, vintage decor, and soulful background music, the space feels intimate yet glamorous—a sophisticated haven in the heart of LA.     Terzian and Toll both grew up in Los Angeles and attended USC, where their passion for nightlife and social spaces took root.     Issa Rae, award-winning actress, producer, and entrepreneur, brought her passion for community empowerment to the hospitality world with Hilltop. For Issa, this wasn’t just about coffee—it was about creating spaces that inspire creativity, hustle, and ownership in the neighborhoods that raised her.

    I wanted to invest in a space that felt accessible, warm, and aspirational for people like me growing up” said Issa.

    Her influence helped elevate Hilltop into a cultural movement. From the curated design to the community-first messaging (“Fueling the Rise & Grind”), her creative direction gave the café a strong identity rooted in purpose. Issa’s presence gave visibility to the importance of Black-owned spaces in LA’s hospitality world, where representation matters as much as the product.

    The Community Strategist

    Ajay Relan is the glue behind many of LA’s most forward-thinking cultural spaces. With a background in branding and events, Ajay focuses on creating spaces that reflect the soul of the community while delivering a premium experience. He’s a connector, curating everything from vibe to visuals.

    We don’t just build places to eat or drink—we build places that make you feel something” said Ajay.

    At Hilltop, he helped frame the tone and mission. With Lost DTLA, he leaned into the mystique and storytelling of nightlife. At Somerville, he co-created a dining experience that honors culture and family roots. Across every venture, Ajay brings structure, energy, and identity—bridging business savvy with community love.

    The Cultural Groundbreaker

    Spaces: Lost DTLA, Somerville, Hilltop

    Yonnie Hagos is a seasoned entrepreneur whose passion lies in building spaces by and for the culture. A proud native of South LA, Yonnie focuses on reinvesting into the communities that shaped him—creating experiences that are high-quality without losing their authenticity.

    We’re showing that you can build world-class experiences in our neighborhoods without selling out” Yonnie shared.

    At Lost, he helped create an intimate, elevated nightlife environment that speaks to LA’s creative elite. At Hilltop, he helped make the café a welcoming hub for rising artists, students, and entrepreneurs. With Somerville, he brought the personal—naming the restaurant after his grandmother’s hometown and designing it to feel like a love letter to heritage and excellence.

    Each of these ventures serves a different purpose, but they’re united by a common thread: intentional Black and Brown ownership, cultural pride, and premium experience.

    SOMERVILLE

    Somerville is where elegance meets soul. Located in Baldwin Hills, it’s a full-service restaurant experience that blends elevated cuisine with deep cultural storytelling. The menu and ambiance reflect a fusion of global flavors rooted in African-American and diasporic influence.

    Somerville sets itself apart through storytelling at the table—from its custom cocktails to its curated playlist and chic aesthetic. It’s not just about fine dining—it’s about identity, celebration, and presence.

    LOST DTLA

    Lost DTLA isn’t your average lounge. Hidden behind a barbershop façade in DTLA, the space offers an intimate, elevated nightlife experience with a speakeasy soul. It’s a place where storytelling is embedded in the design—from the lighting to the cocktails to the curated playlists.

    Yonnie Hagos adds a sharp sense of cultural insight and authenticity to the venue’s vision. As a serial entrepreneur, Hagos has long been focused on creating spaces that reflect the communities he comes from—while offering something entirely new.

    “We create spaces for us, by us—but elevated,” said Hagos. “Lost is about discovery. It’s about walking into a space and realizing this was built with intention.”

    HILLTOP COFFEE + KITCHEN

    Hilltop was born out of a desire to bring premium, inspiring spaces to underserved neighborhoods. The idea was simple: create a beautiful coffee shop where creatives, entrepreneurs, and locals alike could gather, work, and thrive.

    All three founders bring their unique strengths to the project—Issa brings cultural influence and vision, Ajay brings hospitality and experience curation, and Yonnie brings community insight and operational strength.

    “We weren’t just building a coffee shop—we were building an energy,” said Ajay Relan. “A place where people could feel proud to belong.”

    BLUEPRINT FOR CULTURE-DRIVEN HOSPITALITY
